While the show has not announced the exact release date for season 4, we do know that this won't be the end for the kids from Hawkins, Indiana as we'll get at least one more season after this upcoming one.

"Season four won't be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story," said co-creator Ross Duffer.

The new season will see the return of the beloved "Stranger Things" stars, including David Harbour, 46, Millie Bobby Brown, 17, Fin Wolfhard, 18, Noah Scnapp, 16, Gaten Matarazzo, 18, and Caleb McLaughlin, 19.

The megahit Netflix series first debuted in 2016 and immediately received nationwide attention.

The show was forced to halt production of its fourth season due to COVID-19 pandemic. After being delayed for months, cameras began rolling again in early October 2020 after Netflix shared a cryptic photo on its official Twitter account.

Executive producer Levy told Collider that the pandemic may have led to the best season yet.

“I’ll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season 4, date still TBD," Levy said. "But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever.”

The show was created by Matt and Ross Duffer. The twin brothers serve as writers, directors, executive producers and showrunners on the series alongside executive producer/director Shawn Levy and exec producer Dan Cohen.
