Fire departments are used to getting calls to help save cats that are stuck in trees, but rarely do they receive calls to help remove a person from a tree. However, that’s exactly what happened recently in Tulsa, Oklahoma when a man got stuck in a tree attempting to save his cat.
The man had to be rescued after chasing his cat too far up a tree, and luckily the fire department shared video of their odd rescue.
As seen in the now-viral video, the fire department rescues the man stuck in the tree, raising a ladder up to the man that appears to be about two stories off the ground.
“Apparently a cat climbed high up into a tree. Its owner was so concerned for the feline that he climbed up to attempt a rescue. Unfortunately, they both found themselves in a dangerous predicament high above the ground, unable to get down safely,” said the Tulsa Fire Department in a post on its official Facebook page.
According to Fox News, both the man and the cat were safely rescued. Photos of the cat show it was removed from the tree using a backpack.
Hopefully next time the cat makes its way up the tree, its owner decides to call the fire department first.
