How to make your favorite foods in an air fryer

An air fryer can be used to make pretty much all of your favorite foods, from frozen french fries to fresh, healthy eggplant to delicious, spiced chicken legs. There’s specific technique to get the most of out your air fryer with each dish, though.

Here’s how to use your air fryer to make all of your favorite foods.

Baked potato

Baked Potato

How to prepare: Give the potatoes a scrub and a quick poke all over with a fork. A Southern Soul suggests drizzling on oil and salt.
How to cook: Bake them in the air fryer basket for 30 minutes at 400 degrees. Check with a fork to see if they’re cooked through. They might need another 5-10 minutes.

Frozen french fries

Frozen French Fries

How to prepare: According to Airfrying.net, spray the basket with cooking oil and preheat to 400 degrees.
How to cook: Add 0.5-1 pound of fries. Cook for 10 minutes, give the basket a shake, and then cook an additional 5-10 minutes.

How to prepare: Preheat to 400 degrees, and coat tots with cooking spray and salt.
How to cook: According to 40 Aprons, cook 15 minutes, flipping the tots every 5 minutes.

Chicken legs

How to prepare: Preheat the fryer to 400 degrees, then toss drumsticks with oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, according to Rachel Cooks.
How to cook: Place chicken legs in a single layer in the fryer, cook for 10 minutes, turn legs over, and cook another 8-10 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Asparagus

How to prepare: According to Domestic Superhero, trim asparagus ends, and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper.
How to cook: Place asparagus in frying basket, and set the fryer to 400 degrees. Bake for 7 minutes.

How to prepare: Toss 3-4 cups broccoli florets with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper, according to Gimme Delicious.
How to cook: Transfer broccoli to an air fryer and cook at 375 degrees for 8 minutes, shaking halfway through.

How to prepare: Preheat fryer to 350 degrees.
How to cook: Add rings to the fryer without crowding. Fork to Spoon insists you may need to cook in batches. Cook for 4-6 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping with tongs halfway through.

How to prepare: Set fryer to 380 degrees, according to Airfrying.net.
How to cook: Cook for 7 minutes, shaking or flipping halfway through.

How to prepare: Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees.
How to cook: According to Allrecipes, place buns in the fryer first for 2 minutes then remove. Then place hot dogs in fryer for 3 minutes.

How to prepare: According to This Healthy Kitchen, begin by washing and dicing the eggplant, salt it, and press out moisture over a colander for 30 minutes. Then toss with vegetable broth, garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, dried thyme, and black pepper.
How to cook: Place eggplant in fryer and cook at 380 degrees for 15-20 minutes, tossing or turning halfway through. Cook until tender.

Grilled cheese

How to prepare: According to The Kitchn, heat air fryer to 375 degrees. Butter two slices of bread top one with grated (meltable) cheese of your choice, close sandwich and press it down slightly.
How to cook: Fry 6-7 minutes, flipping after 3 minutes.

How to prepare: According to Everyday Family Cooking, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees.
How to cook: Place pizza in a single layer in fryer and cook for 3-4 minutes.
