McDonald' is giving rival fast food restaurants like Chick-Fil-A and Popeyes a run for their money in the fried chicken wars.
The chain is testing an all-new breakfast fried chicken sandwich with bacon and butter honey.
The new Crispy Chicken Breakfast Sandwich comes with a friend chicken filet, a delicious butter honey sauce, and slices of applewood-smoked bacon, Delish reports. Customers can choose between a warm biscuit or a toasted English muffin.
The new breakfast sandwich is only available at participating locations in the Sacramento and Stockton, California areas.
Breakfast lovers in the area can try the new menu option for only $4.69. While this is not as cheap as some of the other items on the menu, the exciting new flavors are worth the extra couple of dollars.
The company has not yet announced if they have plans to make the sandwich available at stores nationwide.
Earlier this month, McDonald's announced the addition of the Caramel Brownie McFlurry in celebration of National Caramel Day, which occurs annually on April 5.
The twist on the popular dessert features McDonald’s signature vanilla soft serve blended with rich, chocolate brownie pieces and caramel topping, according to the press release.
"As our fans rejoice in the changing of the seasons, we're excited to give them a new way to enjoy our most iconic dessert," said Chad Schafer, McDonald's Sr. Director of Culinary, in a press release. "The flavors in our new Caramel Brownie McFlurry are inspired by that first-warm-day-of-the-year feeling."
