Another recall notice has been linked to milk powder from a business called California Dairies that was potentially contaminated with salmonella. This time, Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning products sold at Walmart and online have been recalled.

According to the recall provided by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, Blackstone Products of Providence, Utah, voluntarily recalled certain lots of the seasoning. It said that the dry milk powder was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used in the seasoning product.

“No illnesses have been reported to date,” the notice said.

Last week, Audacy reported on a recall of Kroger Cheese and Garlic Croutons due to potential salmonella contamination linked to the California Dairies recall. There were also no illnesses reported due to that recall.

Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can cause infections. In some cases, these infections can become serious, or even fatal, with children, the elderly and immunocompromised people at the highest risk. Symptoms of a salmonella infection can include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. There are also rare incidences of the infection getting into the bloodstream and causing severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.

According to the Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning recall notice, affected lots were sold nationwide exclusively through Walmart stores and through the Blackstone Products website. A list of impacted lot codes is available here.

“Customers who have affected product should not consume the product and should dispose of it immediately,” said the recall notice. Customers can also contact Blackstone Products directly at 1-888-879-4610 to obtain a replacement product, or for additional questions or more information, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
