Green: Ridley another wrinkle for defensive coordinators to account for

As the Atlanta Falcons continue their preparation for the Cincinnati Bengals, NFL on CBS analyst Trent Green is preparing to call Sunday's game against the two teams.

The Falcons have been hit by the injury bug early, especially defensively. Keanu Neal, Deion Jones and Ricardo Allen are out for the forseeable future while Takk McKinley and Derrick Shelby's statuses for Sunday's game remain up in the air.

"Based on what I've seen, that's just the way it's going to have to be...I do think as an offense you feel that pressure; you want to put up as many points as you can. If the defense is struggling right now, then the offense does take up that charge to put up as many points then the other guys."

Regarding the Falcons offense, it is 'pick your poison.' Rookie wide receiver Calvin Ridley had a breakout game against the New Orleans Saints last week with seven receptions for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Ridley has become another problem for NFL defensive coordinators game-planning for this Falcons offense.

"I think what Calvin Ridley does is add a whole other dimension of speed. From a passing game stand point and getting vertical out on the field, Ridley's emergence was really impressive last week. And what he was able to do--the acceleration to get the ball, coming in-and-out of cuts--it was good to see. I think that presents major problems for any defense."
