It looks like Tom Brady’s marriage to Gisele Bundchen could end before the conclusion of his NFL career.
Page Six reports both Brady and Bundchen have retained divorce lawyers, citing “multiple sources.” Brady’s desire to keep playing football is apparently at the crux of their rift.
Should Bailey Zappe start for the Patriots going forward?
“I never actually thought this argument would be the end of them, but it looks like it is,” said a source.
Last month, Page Six reported that Brady missed 11 days of Buccaneers training camp to address his marital strife. That piece of information seemingly aligned with Brady’s comments upon returning about there being “a lot of s— going on.”
For years, Gisele has seemingly wanted Brady to retire from football. Her apparent prodding dates back to at least 2017, when she said her husband suffers concussions “pretty much every year.”
Brady and Gisele have lived apart in recent months, according to Page Six, including when Brady relocated to Miami last week due to Hurricane Ian.
“I don’t think there will be any coming back now. They both have lawyers and are looking at what a split will entail, who gets what and what the finances will be,” added the source.
The couple would likely file for divorce in Florida, reports Page Six. Another source confirmed Brady and Bundchen are looking at dividing their assets.
Brady’s net worth is an estimated $250 million. The couple owns at least three properties in the U.S. valued at $25.7 million. Page Six says they would share joint custody of their two children.
“As with many marriages, it’s not just one thing. Gisele has made it clear that she worried about Tom playing football and that they had had many talks about it,” said a source.
Brady threw for 385 yards and three touchdowns Sunday in Tampa Bay’s 41-31 loss to the Chiefs. He suffered an injury to his throwing arm after taking a brutal hit and strip-sack.
