Klay Thompson can do no wrong right now in the Bay Area. I have a feeling that he could go 0-15 from long range in his long-awaited return to action on Sunday night, and he'd still be leaving the arena with a massive standing ovation from the loyal crowd at Chase Center. After all, that's what you get when you're a five-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion that hasn't been able to take the floor for two consecutive seasons after unfortunate, significant injuries.

So, whatever Thompson does at his "Klay Day" celebration, it's going to be a festive night, and we're all just glad to see him back. But if he does do something well? We're not sure the roof is going to be able to contain all the noise and energy.
A good indication of that came early in the night, as he returned to the court to a wave of cheers that only got louder as he sunk warmup jumper after warmup jumper.
The only time that warmup shots ever get some sort of reaction is when a player decides to show off his bag of tricks and pull off a crazy, through-the-legs dunk or a halfcourt Steph Curry-esque heave. For Klay on his special day, all it took was a few mid-range jump shots to send the crowd into a frenzy.
With tipoff just minutes away, expect a lot more jumpers — and a whole lot more crowd noise — in Thompson's exciting and storied return to the hardwood.
