(RICHMOND, Va.) -- On Tuesday night, a group of individuals broke windwos and damged and defaced property in several neigborhoods in the city of Richmond. Demonstrations turned violent and the arrests were made late Tuesday night.

At approximately 11:50 p.m., officers detained several individuals. The Department consulted with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney on possible charges and charged four.


Julius De La Cruz, Lakshmi Menon, Kyra Nguyen and Brian Quach were charged with rioting. During the rioting, the John Marshall Courthouse, Omni Hotel, Sun Trust Building and the Dominion Energy building were all damaged.

Several items, including a crowbar and a hammer were seized from the individuals.
