Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Capitol Police say a no-fly zone has been placed around the Lee Monument, which will be in effect into Thursday. The zone covers a two mile radius around the Monument.
The zone is one of several protectivfe measures going up around removal. Streets will be closed in the area into Saturday. Fencing is going up as well. Public access will be limited to the Stuart Circle side of the Monument.
The State Supreme Court cleared the way for removal last week.
