Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Equality Virginia says they are shocked, disappointed, and angry over Friday's rewrite of the transgender policy for school by the Youngkin Administration. The LGTBQ+ advocacy group says, however, that it is too early to talk about a potential legal challenge.

EV Executive Director Narissa Rahaman says it is unclear what will happen to the 13 school districts that adopted the original model policy. Rahaman points out the original model policy will remain in effect at least until the end of October.

The Youngkin administration says the original policy tried to create cultural and societal change. They also say it disregarded parents.
