Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Office of the State Inspector General confirms it has begun an investigation into the Virginia Tourism Corporation contract with Poolhouse. The advertising firm also helped Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) win the Governor's Mansion last year.

Democratic leaders had requested an investigation into the the $268,000 contract. Poolhouse received $1.5 million from Youngkin last year. The Democrats pointed out Poolhouse did not have experience in this area, and the the Governor does not normally appear in these ads, although he did this time.

The Youngkin administration also reportedly raised concerns as well and asked for additional bids.
