Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Henrico's Commonwealth Attorney Shannon Taylor says a man she charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the Lucia Bremer case has been found not guilty. Richard Pierce had been charged due to the accessibility of the firearm allegedly used in the 13-year old's killing.

Taylor says she and the family are frustrated, and that the decision was made due to "insufficient evidence." Pierce was charged in October, months after Bremer was killed in March while walking along a path in the west end of the county.

Just last month, a circuit court judge determined the teen boy accused of murder in the case would be tried as an adult. Taylor had pushed for an adult trial, in part because the boy would be able to receive services longer. During that hearing, it was revealed that the boy has potential unspecified mental health issues, and has dealt with several instances of trauma at a young age.
