Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia Department of Health is shifting its quarantine guidance for people exposed to Covid-19. Meanwhile, the Richmond-Henrico Health District says it is sticking with the CDC guidance, which is tighter.

Under the new VDH guidance, people do not need to quarantine if they are completely vaccinated, or have had Covid-19 within the last six months. The CDC recommends quarantining if the Covid case is longer than three months in the past. VDH says there is evidence Covid-19 immunity lasts longer than the three month guideline.

The change comes as Central Virginia remains in high community level for all of its localities in regards to Covid.
