The Alex Bregman free agent journey appears to be coming to an end.
Bregman is in agreement on a three-year, $120 million deal with the Boston Red Sox, The Athletic's Chandler Rome reported Wednesday night.
The deal includes opt-outs after each season, according to Rome. This concludes a free agency period that saw some interest between Bregman and the Astros in reuniting, ultimately ending in the third baseman landing in Boston.
Bregman hit .260 with 26 home runs and 75 RBI last season. Known to start seasons off slowly, Bregman picked it up after May 9. He hit .280 with 25 of his homers and an .838 OPS from May 9 through the end of the regular season after starting the first 33 games hitting .189.
