HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - It's a new day. Which means it's time for the latest rumor involving star quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Broncos beat writer Mike Klis is reporting that Watson has a list of teams he'd be open to joining should the Texans grant his reported wish to be traded.
This back and forth comes from Schlereth and Evans on 104.3 The Fan in Denver:
Question: "I would think the Broncos would only pursue Watson if they felt that he'd be agreeable to coming here. So do they feel that push comes to shove they could attract him here?"
"They have, they're not speaking to Watson themselves, but I think they've gotten from the Watson party, agents or whatever, they've been assured that the Broncos will be one of four or five teams Watson would like to listen to," Klis said.
Watson has previously been connected to the Jets and Dolphins.
Klis' report comes after Peter King of NBC Sports reported that veteran teammates of Watson are telling him "we don't want you to get trapped here," and "you don't owe us anything."
In his introductory press conference, new head coach David Culley proclaimed that Watson "will be a Houston Texan." Since then, Watson's trade demand was made public, and the rumors have grown louder and louder that his time in Houston may be coming to a close in the near future.
Seth Payne and Sean Pendergast discussed what Watson may have taken away from Culley's statement in the video above.
