Returning by popular demand, "WildWoods: AGLOW" is set to open in the 10 acres of woodlands at Fernbank Museum on Nov. 10, 2023. "WildWoods: AGLOW" is an engaging adventure that immerses visitors in the wonders of nature at night through a blend of the real environment, glowing displays, dramatic music, and beautiful artistry, all uniquely curated to highlight the native flora and fauna within WildWoods. The multi-sensory nighttime experience has been recognized with numerous international awards, including the MUSE Creative Gold Award and the 2023 SEGD Global Design Award.

This year, Fernbank is including additional museum programming with "WildWoods: AGLOW" admission, including refreshments and imbibements in the AGLOW Lounge; after-hours access for the special exhibits, "Vikings: Warriors of the Sea" through Jan. 1, 2024, "Winter Wonderland" from Nov. 19-Jan. 7, 2023 and "Spiders — From Fear to Fascination" starting Feb. 10, 2024; access to the popular film, "Fungi" in the Giant Screen Theater; and a variety of hands on activities on select nights. A new mobile app experience will provide trivia, challenges and additional discoveries for during and after the visit.
"WildWoods: AGLOW" is an experience that encourages visitors to take their time and allow themselves to wander through the oversized, artistically illuminated structures, engage with the glowing projections and listen to composed original musical scores, all of which were carefully curated and designed to inspire a deeper connection with nature. Highlights include an oversized seed of a tulip poplar tree effulgent with interactive light, curious projections of nocturnal animals and plant species that are native to Fernbank Forest, larger-than-life incandescent mushrooms and vibrant interactive lighting representing the surrounding plants and woodland environment's communication highway that is created by the root system. "WildWoods: AGLOW" illuminates the flourishing ecosystem within Fernbank Forest in a dazzling and engaging display that connects us back to nature and bridges the gap between one generation and the next.

"By immersing guests in the wonder of the natural world in both AGLOW and the Giant Screen Theater movie "Fungi," we hope to spark our guests' curiosity and inspire them to learn more about the world around us and our role in stewarding it for the future."
Developed in partnership with Thinkwell (A TAIT Company), a leading design and production agency creating immersive, content-driven experiences for brands and companies around the world, "WildWoods: AGLOW" is the third endeavor between the two organizations, following the opening of the award-winning children's exhibit NatureQuest in 2011 and the creation of a series of outdoor exhibits in WildWoods, which expanded Fernbank's experiences into the outdoors in 2016. Thinkwell has previously designed and opened other international outdoor, nighttime experiences, including Omega a la Nuit and Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience.
"WildWoods: AGLOW" is a limited-run nighttime experience offered on select evenings from Nov. 10, 2023, through Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 for all ages and abilities, except for special adults only evenings when "WildWoods: AGLOW" coincides with Fernbank After Dark.
"WildWoods: AGLOW" will debut during Fernbank After Dark on Nov. 10 for ages 21 and older, with all-ages access on most other nights. Additional adults-only experiences will be offered in combination with Fernbank After Dark on Dec. 8, Jan. 12, and Feb. 9. Operating schedule, ticket availability, prices and times vary by date.
