It's also the time of year when ticks are their most active. From May to November and according to the CDC Lyme disease is the most common disease in the country.
So what do you do about it this season? First use a bug repellent. According to experts, use something with a deet or other products like oil of Lemon Eucalyptus. Next they say it's a good idea to stay in the center of the trail if you're out in a wooded or bushy area and then check yourself before going back inside because ticks can hide on your body in small places like behind your knees or under your arm. Last but not least check your pets or ticks because they can bring them inside the house as well. If you are bitten by a tick and start to experience symptoms like fatigue or headaches immediately reach out to your primary care provider.
