The cover of The Go-Go's debut album Beauty and the Beat famously showed the band adorned in bath towels and according to the band, someone may have purchased those towels back in 1981 and had no idea.

Bassist Kathy Valentine told Yahoo! that their manager bought the bath towels at Macy, though returned them the day after the photo shoot because "they were too expensive."

Beauty and the Beat was atop the Billboard albums chart for six weeks in early 1982, and still reamains the only time an all-woman group that wrote its own material and played its instruments hit No. 1.
