Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. The Red Cross is seeking volunteers in the community to help install hundreds of free smoke alarms and help make homes safer for local families in Fontana, Murrieta, and El Cajon. Red Cross Disaster Preparedness Manager Melissa Altman discusses their "Sound the Alarm" campaign.
