Kansas City, MO - The landmark arena in downtown Kansas City will no longer be called the Sprint Center.
With a merger of Sprint and T-Mobile comes a name change for the arena - T-Mobile Center - and a goodbye to the signature yellow of the Sprint brand, swapped out for the magenta of the T-Mobile brand.
T-Mobile officials said locals can expect to see changes over the next few months with new signage coming in August.

As reported by the KC Star, Sprint partly funded the 2004 campaign to gain voter approval for a downtown arena and its marketing officials worked alongside the political team pushing the project. In 2007, Sprint signed a 25-year naming rights agreement on the Sprint Center. The agreement allowed for a name change.
