With the Washington Football Team struggling to field a proper team for its upcoming game against the Eagles due to a massive Covid-19 outbreak, many are left to wonder who will start at quarterback for Washington.
With both Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen on the Reserve/Covid-19 list and no telling when they could return, Washington has just one healthy quarterback, Kyle Shurmur, who's been in the building prior to this week. Washington brought in outside help by signing Jordan Ta'amu and Garrett Gilbert this week.
In steps 31-year-old Robert Griffin III?

Er, probably not...
There are a number of reasons why this is implausible, first and foremost being that Griffin hasn't been on an NFL roster since January. On a more personal level, it's hard to imagine Washington signing over any paychecks to Griffin at the same time that he's writing a book promising to expose the "shocking mismanagement and toxic culture" within the Washington organization, dubbed in Griffin's promotional materials as "the most dysfunctional professional football team in America."
Furthermore, with the NFL agreeing — post-Griffin tweet — to postpone the Washington-Philly game, it's possible that one of either Heinicke or Allen could test out of Covid protocol in time for Tuesday, making the need for another quarterback a moot point.
Griffin similarly offered up his services in September when quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick went down with a hip injury. Washington elected instead to roll with Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen in Week 2 while also signing Kyle Shurmur to its practice squad.
