
Country music icon, Kenny Rogers, passed away Friday night, according to a statement posted by Roger's family on Twitter. He was 81.
Rogers was known for such hits as “The Gambler,” “Lady,” “Islands in the Stream,” and “Lucille.”
Rogers died peacefully at home of natural causes and surrounded by family at 10:25 p.m., the statement said.
Rogers topped pop and country charts during the 1970s and 1980s, and won three Grammy awards.
Rogers had business ventures over the years, including the international restaurant sector.
