Chris Russell argues with BMitch & Finlay about New York food and Washington quarterbacks???

Quick inside baseball intro from Lou: back in May, when I visited DC to meet the team officially and explain our shift in digital strategies, Chris Russell brought me a homemade meal as a welcome…and since then, there’s been a three-way joke between me, Rooster, and JP Finlay (New York bagels are awesome JP, so kiss that!) about Rooster’s sausage, which I've come to find out is just one piece of JP loving to needle Chris about his food proclivities.

So yeah, JP heckling Chris about his food choices as a whole happened again Tuesday when Rooster brought the guys some Chinese food from his favorite spot, and got into an argument about bagels and pizza and yellow mustard!

Rooster brought in the food as a holiday offering for the crew, but what he really came in to talk about was the Commanders, and he was asked the same question Brian & JP debated and asked Nicki Jhabvala, too: will Jacoby Brissett go over or under 0.5 starts in the final three weeks?

“I’m gonna go over, because I can see Ron, the master of the meaningless, throwing Jacoby a bone against the Cowboys because thy paid him $8 million to come in and play half a game so far,” Rooster said. “There’s three meaningless games to go, but I think Sam starts this week, and unless he’s absolutely brutal, he’ll probably start against San Francisco – but by the time we get to Dallas, I can see it.”

So why was Howell pulled Sunday?

“Because he sucked,” Rooster said flatly. “Footwork was bad, accuracy was terrible, and everyone who defends Sam says thy have no offensive line so he has no chance…but I disagree! The Rams had 29 total QB pressures against the Ravens, and 14 against Sam Howell. All of a sudden we’re supposed to believe that every time Sam struggles it’s because the offensive line is leaky? Sometimes it’s the problem, but not always – and Sunday, I don’t think that was the issue.”

Brissett coming in and balling out sort of proved that point to Russell, but it also proved that a change in quarterbacks mid-game can throw off the defense as much as it boosts the offense, even if JP disagrees.

But yeah, that benching HAD to be as much, if not more, about performance than protection.

“I saw some passes in that game that made me scratch my head,” BMitch said.

Take a listen to all 20 glorious minutes of BMitch, JP, and Rooster arguing it all above!
