Thursday's loss to the lowly Bears was a mess from start to finish for the Commanders, but BMitch couldn't get past how Washington, once again, looked slow coming out of the gates, falling into a 27-3 halftime deficit to a team that hadn't won a game in over a year.
"The first half was garbage. Let's be real," BMitch said. "I don't care what schemes are. When players start getting embarrassed, there is a sense of pride in them, and they start to fight back. You could see some good things in the second half. But the problem is, why is it so often in the first half, early in the game, early in the season, that we are here?
"If you look at the five games we played this year, we came out flat in four of them. The person that says 'We came out flat,' please tell me why. Hell, you've been in it. You should be able to put your finger on it and tell me why you come out flat."
Whether it is a lack of preparation or a lack of energy to start, BMitch needs to see something change, or the Commanders will be playing from behind on a weekly basis, which is a recipe for disaster.
"Can you start a game and stay afloat, and get something going?" BMitch said. "I haven't seen that."
