The Washington Commanders are set to interview former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman this week.
This latest development in Washington's search for a new offensive coordinator has developed quickly in the day following the Super Bowl.
Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post first suggested that Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy may not be the only OC interview the Commanders have lined up for this week.
That was followed a short time later by a report of ESPN's John Keim, indicating Washington is trying to set a time to speak with Roman.
Roman previously spent the past four seasons calling plays for Baltimore and quarterback Lamar Jackson. He had been with the Ravens in various roles since 2017. He ultimately resigned as the Ravens OC following their playoff loss to the Bengals in January.
Now, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that Roman is set to interview for the Commanders' OC vacancy on Tuesday.
This comes after Commanders head coach Ron Rivera spent the week on radio row at the Super Bowl alluding to the the idea of interviewing Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy.
This might help explain the timeline of why Washington has allowed five weeks to lapse since firing Scott Turner without hiring his replacement.
