Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Bills returned to form in their 44-32 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past Sunday in Orchard Park.
Leading the way for the Bills was reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen, who accounted for 357 total yards and six total touchdowns - three passing and three rushing.
While Tampa Bay ended up going blow-for-blow throughout the contest, the defense eventually clamped down on Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers offense, helping to allow Allen the chance to close out the victory in style.
Up next for the Bills is a short week and a trip to Houston to face the Texans on "Thursday Night Football" at NRG Stadium.
This will be the second time in as many years the Bills are making the trip to Houston to face the Texans, where Buffalo has not had much success over the years. In the all-time matchup, the Texans are 7-5, and have not lost to the Bills at home since 2006.
While Houston will not have C.J. Stroud under center due to a concussion on Thursday, they have managed to earn two-straight wins with Davis Mills under center. One of those wins coming in Week 10 with a come-from-behind victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.
While the Houston offense has its weapons to give the Bills some fits, it is their historic defense that can be the true "X" factor in this game. The Texans are currently boasting the No. 1 ranked defense in total yards per-game, and feature a number of weapons that can make life difficult for Allen and the No. 2 offense overall in the NFL.
After seeing his confidence in the Bills taking a huge hit following an abysmal loss to the Miami Dolphins the week before, Howard Simon is on the rebound with his latest picks in the final seven weeks of the 2025 season.
Following the exciting win and the return of a downfield passing offense, the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction, with Howard picking the Bills to beat the Texans and earn wins in six of the final seven games, finishing the year 13-4.
The only game Howard has the Bills losing the rest of the regular season comes in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, who still currently lead the AFC East with a 9-2 record. The loss likely puts the Bills out of the running for the division, and will put Buffalo in a spot to earn the top Wild Card spot in the AFC standings.
