East Rutherford, N.J. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - For the fourth time in their last five meetings, the Buffalo Bills come away victorious against the New York Jets, this time winning 30-10 in their Week 2 matchup of the 2025 season at MetLife Stadium.
The Bills grabbed an early lead in this contest and never looked back, utilizing mostly the run game with running back James Cook, as he led the way with 132 yards on 21 carries and two touchdowns.
While the offense certainly came ready to play, the defensive performance from the Bills was second-to-none, holding the Jets to 154 total yards on the day. Most of that yardage came well after the game was out of hand for New York.
This also comes with Buffalo facing a number of injuries on that side of the ball. Not playing Sunday in New Jersey included starting defensive tackle Ed Oliver, and nickel cornerback Taron Johnson.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott heavily credited the defense and the coaching staff after Sunday's blowout win, and remains hopeful his group can continue this pace in the following weeks.
"It was good to see them really disciplined, playing hard, playing relentless style of defense. Taking the ball away and being able to close the game out", said McDermott on Sunday following the victory.
"Coaches, led by Bobby [Babich], did a great job putting a good plan together. Players executed. They spent time like they did last week, don't get me wrong, but there was real they were really intentional this week about the details and making sure they understood where they were supposed to be and when they were supposed to be there."
