Sabres release 2023 training camp roster

The team reports for training camp on Wednesday with the opening practice set for Thursday

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) – The Buffalo Sabres released their official training camp roster on Wednesday, and there are no surprises are on the list.

When it comes to some jersey numbers this upcoming season, free agent defensive signing Erik Johnson will wear No. 6, which is the same number he wore with the Colorado Avalanche. Fellow free agent defenseman Connor Clifton takes No. 75, which is the same number he wore with the Boston Bruins.

With goalie Devon Levi taking No. 27 when he signed with the Sabres this past season, Sabres prospect Jiri Kulich has switched to No. 20.

Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams kicks off training camp on Thursday morning when he will speak with the assembled media at 9 a.m. ET. You’ll be able to hear that live on WGR Sports Radio 550 during the "Jeremy and Joe Show".

The team reports to training camp in Downtown Buffalo on Wednesday, and will take to the ice on Thursday following Adams' comments with the media.

The Sabres will take part in a Blue and Gold scrimmage on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET, while the first preseason game is Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in Washington against the Capitals.

With the Buffalo Bills taking on the Washington Commanders on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on WGR, Sunday's faceoff in the nation's capital can be heard on our sister station, WBEN News Radio 930.
