An Upstate Football Coach is hanging up the whistle. Chesnee High head man Clay Lewis has announced his retirement after more than three decades in coaching.
Lewis was hired at Chesnee in 2019. He led the program to a region title in 2020 and a trip to the 2nd round of the 2A State Playoffs this past season.
Lewis says he plans to move to the Lenoir, North Carolina area and focus on his family during retirement. He exits the Upstate after spending 35 years leading student athletes.
