Turnovers the story in Panthers season opening loss at Atlanta

Turnovers were the story in the season opening loss for the Carolina Panthers Sunday afternoon. In a game heard on Classic Rock 101.1, the Panthers fell 24-10 to the Falcons in Atlanta.

Carolina was outscored 17-3 in the 2nd half after the game was tied going into the half. The Panthers had more 1st downs and total yards on the day. However, they were minus three in turnover margin, while Atlanta played virtually mistake free.

Panther QB Bryce Young made his 1st career start. he was 20 of 38 for 146 yards, a TD and two interceptions. TE Hayden Hurst had a TD catch, the lone trip to the end zone on the day for Carolina.

Atlanta Safety Jessie Bates III had two interceptions and a forced fumble.
