Our very own Atlanta Braves insider and reporter Grant McAuley joined The Morning Shift earlier today, and he explained why he’s not worried about Ronald Acuña Jr.’s slow start to the 2026 season.
“I don’t make a lot of it because Ronald is just one of those guys that I feel like can turn it on and all of sudden you forget that there was a sluggish week or whatever it is couple of weeks and then he just goes on an absolute tear and all of a sudden you look at his numbers and you realize why he is who he is. He’s still hitting the ball hard, he’s still drawing his walks, he’s still doing the things that he can do, but once he’s on base more we’ll see more stolen bases, once he really gets locked in we could see five, six home runs in a single week.”
A healthy Ronald Acuña Jr. can get hot at any time and stay hot for an extended period of time, and there’s no reason to believe the Braves’ superstar won’t get hot and get into a consistent rhythm at some point very soon.
