This fall marks my 13th season covering high school football — and honestly, it still feels like the first time I stepped into a press box.
It all started at Boiling Springs High School when I was just a junior. I wasn’t calling games yet — I was up there keeping stats, probably more nervous than I should’ve been. But even then, I knew I loved it. I loved the pace, the energy, the electricity of a Friday night.
The next year, I moved to the sideline. Then, before I knew it, I was in the booth doing color commentary. I wasn’t even out of high school yet, but I knew — this was what I was supposed to do.
In 2019, I got the opportunity to call games for Byrnes — one of the biggest names in high school football. That’s when it really started to feel real. Three years in Duncan gave me a deeper love for this game, these communities, and the stories that unfold every fall.
In 2022, I took a job in Dallas, Texas. After being there for a year, South Carolina called me home. In 2023, I came back to South Carolina and served as the sideline reporter for Gaffney. Another powerhouse, another incredible experience.
But Byrnes called me home. In 2024, I returned as the play-by-play voice of the Rebels — and this year, I’m back again for season five in that role.
Thirteen years. From a stat guy at Boiling Springs to the voice of one of the top programs in the nation. This isn’t just a job for me — it’s a passion, a calling, and a privilege. I love high school football. I always will. And I can’t wait to see what this season has in store. It's never been about winning games or losing games, it's been the relationships made along the way.
