An area college softball team has concluded their season after achieving several program milestones. USC Upstate Softball finished their season with a 5-0 loss to Longwood in the Big South Conference Tournament, last Friday.
Despite that loss, the Spartans had a record year. They won 48 games overall , which is good for a single season program record. They also won their 1st ever Big South Conference Regular Season Title.
Spartan Sophomore Peyton Darnell was named Big South Player Of The Year after hitting .329 with 15 home runs and driving in 62 runs on the season. Upstate Native Chris Hawkins was named Conference Coach Of The Year, he eclipsed the 1,000 career win mark earlier this season.
