The Atlanta Braved decided to bring the band back together for the 2024 stretch run towards the MLB playoffs. GM Alex Anthopoulos ahead of the trade deadline brought back outfielders Eddie Rosario and Jorge Soler. They previously brought back Adam Duvall as well. Reliever Luke Jackson came back as well in the deal for Soler.
These moves worked back in 2021 when the team went on a magical playoff run to capture the World Series title. Anthopoulos decided not to pursue a top outfielder, bullpen arm or starting pitcher and instead opt for bringing back some old friends.
The Braves currently remain atop the wildcard standings in the NL despite their stars underperforming all season long combined with devastating injuries to Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr. Only time will tell if Anthopoulos pulled the right (and familiar) strings again.
