(670 The Score) The Cubs have reinstated infielder Addison Russell from the restricted list with his 40-game suspension served and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Cubs transferred reliever Brandon Morrow to the 60-day injured list. Morrow has been sidelined all season after undergoing elbow surgery last November, and he's not expected to throw again for at least two weeks after a recent health setback.
Russell, 25, served his suspension for violating the league's joint domestic violence policy. He was 5-of-20 with one homer and seven RBIs in six games in a recent rehab assignment at Triple-A.
