(670 The Score) Worth an estimated $4.1 billion, the Bulls are the fourth-most valuable franchise in the NBA, according to a new Forbes report released Thursday.

The Bulls trail the Warriors ($7 billion), the Knicks ($6.1 billion) and the Lakers ($5.9 billion) in estimated value. The Bulls' value has risen by 12% year over year, according to Forbes.

Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and his group of investors paid $9.2 million to acquire a controlling interest in the Bulls in 1985, according to Tribune reporting at the time.

The Warriors overtook the Knicks as the most valuable franchise in the past year. It marked the first time in more than two decades that the Knicks or Lakers weren't pegged as the most valuable NBA franchise.
