Jose Can You See

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is playing in the last year before reaching free agency. No contract talks have been reported although the consensus is that the two sides may agree on an extension at some point late in the season.

Both sides talk about the relationship being strong.

"We always have conversations Internally about where this thing is going forward," Hahn said. "We prefer to handle our business in the offseason. We don't want to create any distractions in the clubhouse. There have been a couple of exceptions like the Mark Buerhle signing and Jermaine Dye that same season.

"In general, its something we prefer to address in the offseason. We will wait until things are appropriate and deal with it then in all probability."
