The Washington Commanders have another 3 months and nine days to prepare to face the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. It seems like a long time, but with the team amid an offseason of change, every day and every practice can feel crucial to success and failure.
The Washington Times' Matthew Paras and Team 980's Craig Hoffman were out at the Commanders' practice on Wednesday during OTAs and they had a handful of observations on how the team looks at this period, including the defense trying out defensive backs Emmanuel Forbes and Benjamin St. Juste in the slot and if that impacts Forbes' playmaking ability, Sam Howell’s progress under center entering year two, Eric Bieniemy's booming presence, a tough day for Brian Robinson, and the possibility of any contract extensions coming to free up salary cap space.
