Jacoby Brissett signed with the Washington Commanders as the veteran in the quarterback room. Over the offseason, head coach Ron Rivera and the team through both public and private channels communicated that Sam Howell, with just 19 career NFL passes to his name, would be the starting quarterback entering OTAs and training camp and would be given the shot to cement his position as the Week 1 starter.
