This NFL isn't little league: Everybody doesn't get to play. There are starters and their are back-ups and that's the way it goes. Of course, until the starter either gets hurt, which is an unfortunate part of the game, or plays so poorly the head coach is forced to remove who they thought would be the best option and turn to their second choice, which is an unfortunate part of the game for fans and one that is a bit too familiar when it comes to quarterbacks in this area.
With that in mind and Washington Commanders training camp in full swing, Doc Walker and Lynnell Willingham (in for Kevin Sheehan) debated if Jacoby Brissett, who is for all intents and purposes Ron Rivera's backup quarterback, should get a shot to take practice repetitions with the first team ahead of Sam Howell? And Willingham argues that Brissett is deserving of a chance to get those reps with top offense.
