On the day the No. 3 pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, Jeff Okudah, was traded, Chris Russell wonders if the Washington Commanders should consider trading the person taken one pick before, defensive end Chase Young.

The Commanders, who have committed tons of money and numerous high draft picks on the defensive line, face a decision of whether to pick up Young's fifth-year option before May 2. But with the former top draft pick struggling to make a big impact on the field, Russell wonders if it would be better to simply trade him now after some of Ron Rivera's comments about checking with the new owners before exercising that fifth-year option.

Okudah, a defensive back out of Ohio State, was dealt Tuesday from the Detroit Lions to the Atlanta Falcons for a 2023 fifth-round pick. Like Young, Okuah has dealt with injuries, appearing in nine games his rookie season before he sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon in 2021. He did play 15 games a season ago.

Young, coincidentally another Ohio State product, appeared in 15 games during his rookie season and posted 7.5 sacks, but tore his ACL nine games into a disappointing second season and as a result was only healthy enough to play in three games last season.

Overall, Young has nine career sacks in 27 games with six forced fumbles (three fumble recoveries), seven pass defenses, and 75 tackles (50 solo) with 13 tackles for loss and 17 QB hits.
