I'm ready for Fall and these brownies scream fall. The taste of maple and the sweetness that makes you want to have a cup of coffee... it's all there. This is another recipe out of Grandma George's recipe box and this recipe was from Dorothy Maxwell, and let me tell you, she knew what she was doing. Enjoy.
Ingredients
1/2 cup margarine, melted
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp Maple Flavoring
1 c chopped nuts
2 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking pwd.
Butterscotch chips, optional
Instructions
Mix margarine, sugar, and maple flavoring.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Sift dry ingredients and add to the creamed mix.
Stir just to blend.
Fold in butterscotch chips.
Pour into a greased and floured 9" square pan.
Bake 35-40 minutes at 350.
