Michael J. Fox let a big one get away.
In a new cover story with Variety, the actor revealed he turned down a role in the smash hit 1990 movie “Ghost”. The production eventually starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg.
“I didn’t see how it would work,” Fox told the publication. “It shows I can be an idiot too”.
The “Back to the Future” star didn’t say which role he would have starred in.
A year after the premiere of “Ghost” Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, at the age of 29.

“It’s such a sh*tty disease,” he said. “I didn’t want to think about it. I didn’t want to deal with it. It didn’t fit my story. I just shut down”.
Fox’s decades long battle with the disease and how he’s juggled it with career and family is the subject of an Apple TV documentary, “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie”.
"I watch how Michael's dealt with [his diagnosis], and that's given me a path forward," the documentary’s director Davis Guggenheim told EW. "It could be Parkinson's, it could be cancer, it could be work, it could be anything. But that's the appeal to me; it's a universal story. The pitch was: What happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease?'"
