Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WBEN) - The travel ban in most of Erie County was lifted as of 6 a.m. Monday after an intense, but narrow, band of lake effect snow pummeled much of the central portion of the county over the weekend.

The remaining travel ban for the Town of Cheektowaga will be lifted at 9 a.m. and a ban remains in place for the City of Lackawanna

Those wishing to participate in snow removal at Highmark Stadium are permitted to do so and are asked to use Southwestern Boulevard and Abbott Road.

Many of the major roadways that were closed have reopened, including a portion of the NYS Thruway at interchange 53, Route 219 and Route 400.

The Skyway and lakeshore complex is closed from downtown to Ridge Rd.
