This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with Chanda Brigance, Co-Founder of the Brigance Brigade Foundation, about their 15th anniversary helping to equip, encourage and empower people living with ALS (PALS), and their families and about their upcoming Race for ALS, the 5.7K Championship Race and 1.57 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, April 29th at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore!
The 5.7K is not your typical 5K because the number 57 is a symbol for O.J. and pays tribute to his career with the Baltimore Ravens. The average life expectancy for someone with ALS is 2-3 years. This year marks O.J.'s 16th year since his diagnosis. O.J. continues to defy the odds with his remarkable determination and works as a team with his wife Chanda and the Owings Mills, Maryland based non-profit organization they co-founded together in 2008.
