This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Greater Baltimore Urban League, (GBUL), Interim COO Shea Ewell and Dr. Edwin Green, Jr. from GBUL's Saturday Leadership Program to talk about his amazing 10 years as a volunteer, GBUL's Nationwide search for a CEO, their recent Workforce Development Job Fair & ongoing Construction and Cybersecurity Program Cohorts and their upcoming "Voices of the People" podcast!
Dr. Green talked about his amazing decade with GBUL's Saturday Leadership, a FREE program that provides collaboration between parents, GBUL, schools, universities/colleges and a host of other partners to create a "village" that increases the participant's academic success.
Shea talked about GBUL's Nationwide search for a CEO and her expanded role as Interim COO. She also recapped their recent Workforce Development Job & Resource Fair at Lexington Market on March 21st. Shea discussed GBUL's apprenticeship Construction Workforce Development Training Program that graduated 17 participants and employed 11 of the 17. Their 2nd Construction Cohort has been going strong with 22 candidates. They are in their third Cohort for their Cybersecurity Program. She also recapped GBUL's recent pitch competition at the Small Business Expo, a partnership with VIPSocio, the event/tech start up, at their event held at MRI studios on March 21st.
Shea also talked about about upcoming GBUL news including their Black Restaurant Accelerator Program, (BRAP), about to start in June and an upcoming GBUL podcast called "Voices of the People," launching in the upcoming weeks.
