This week on Spotlight on Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with Steve Salem, President of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, (CRSF), & Frank Kelly, former Maryland State Senator, past Board Chairman and current Board Member of the CRSF.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the foundation and the unveiling of its 100th Youth Development Park this Spring. This park will be located in South Baltimore. Over the last decade alone, the foundation has raised and gifted over $117 million through its Youth Development Park Program.
Their new initiative is STEM centers. The foundation has opened 65 Stem Centers in elementary and middle schools across the country and have distributed over 10,000 at -home STEM kits.
