This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Sherise Holden, Founder & President of SheRises Inc., the Bowie, Maryland- based non-profit organization founded in 2019 and inspired by Sherise's own experience as a teen Mom. Sherise came in to talk about their mission and upcoming Community Baby Shower May 18th at the Largo-Perrywood Community Center.
SheRises Inc.'s mission is to reach, inspire, strengthen, and empower young mothers in Maryland and DC through mentoring, collegiate, community, and other resource support like their Mommy Closet available on the 4th Saturday of every month providing diapers, wipes, formula and other supplies for Moms in need.
Sherise also talked about the importance of National Teen Pregnancy Awareness Month and Maternal Health Awareness Month both coming up in May. She also shared information about SheRises' upcoming Community Baby Shower May 18th from 10am-1pm at the at the Largo-Perrywood Community Center.
