Alan Wilson's campaign issued a press release Friday afternoon:
(COLUMBIA, S.C.) — President Donald J. Trump has endorsed Attorney General Alan Wilson for Governor of South Carolina, throwing his total and complete support behind the combat veteran, career prosecutor, and longtime America First conservative whose campaign has surged in the polls and united conservatives from across the Palmetto State.
As momentum behind Wilson's campaign has continued to grow and a massive coalition of grassroots conservatives, elected officials, and law enforcement leaders have rallied to his side, President Trump announced his support for Wilson.
"I love the Wonderful State of South Carolina for every reason in the book, including the fact that it is “loaded up” with truly GREAT people and Political Leaders. There are two Highly Respected Candidates running to be your next Governor in the June 23rd Republican Runoff Election, your current Lieutenant Governor, Pam Evette, and your current Attorney General, Alan Wilson. Both have had amazing careers, and have been with me from the beginning. They are MAGA and America First all the way! These were the two that I was hoping would get into a Runoff, and they did. I can’t hurt one of them by only Endorsing the other, so, therefore, I am going to Endorse, for Governor of South Carolina, both Pam Evette and Alan Wilson! It’s a Wealth of Riches – With either one you can’t go wrong. Vote for Pam or Alan — They will not let you down! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Wilson expressed his gratitude for the endorsement and pledged to continue advancing the principles that have made South Carolina one of the most conservative states in the nation.
"President Trump transformed our country and inspired millions of Americans to stand up for faith, family, freedom, and the America First agenda," said Wilson. "I’ve proudly stood with President Trump from the very beginning, defended him when others would not, and fought alongside him against the Radical Left. I am deeply honored to have his support because he understands I am focused on making South Carolina more affordable for families and profitable for businesses. I look forward to working with him as Governor to continue delivering conservative victories for the people of this state."
As Attorney General, Wilson has consistently used the power of his office to defend President Trump’s America First agenda and fight back against the Left’s attacks on the Constitution.
Wilson filed legal briefs defending President Trump’s executive order blocking federal funding for gender transitions for minors, saying South Carolina will not allow children to be used as experiments for radical gender ideology.
Wilson also backed President Trump’s effort to restore constitutional authority to the presidency, including filing multiple briefs in support of ending birthright citizenship for illegal aliens and leading a 20-state coalition defending the President’s authority over his own executive branch. He also filed in support of President Trump’s DOGE directive to make federal agencies accountable to the people instead of unelected bureaucrats.
Wilson has been a leading voice in support of President Trump’s America First cabinet, including leading a coalition urging the Senate to confirm top administration officials. When the Left weaponized the justice system against President Trump, Alan Wilson did not flinch. He led a 15-state brief supporting President Trump’s appeal of the outrageous New York civil fraud ruling, stood outside the Manhattan courthouse to call out the sham trial, and fought back against efforts to remove President Trump from the ballot and target him through political prosecutions.
Wilson has also defended election integrity, filing an amicus brief in the Pennsylvania voting case, fighting to reinstate South Carolina’s witness signature requirement for mail-in ballots, and stopping Democrats from weakening election safeguards during COVID.
And when the Biden Administration tried to bulldoze South Carolina with woke regulations, unconstitutional mandates, and Green New Deal-style overreach, Alan Wilson took them to court and won.
Wilson said the endorsement makes clear that South Carolina conservatives have a fighter they can trust. “President Trump knows I have been in the fight,” Wilson said. “I am grateful for his trust, and I am proud of my record, and ready to keep South Carolina safe and free.”
As Governor, Wilson has stated his top priority is to make South Carolina more affordable for families, profitable for businesses, and accountable to you. He will eliminate the income tax, lower property taxes, and cut wasteful government spending. He will promote a kids first education agenda, prioritize our crumbling roads and bridges, and defend our conservative values.
